King Houndekpinkou: Artist talk and demonstration
Bookings are now closed and this event is over. We hope you managed to see the exhibition at Heide MOMA called “An Idea Needing to be Made” before 20 October 2019 and if not, you can buy a catalogue direct from Heide Moma!
We are pleased to partner with Heide Museum of Modern Art to present an artist talk and demonstration by King Houndekpinkou, a Paris-based Franco-Beninese artist inspired by the ancient pottery kilns of Japan and cult of the Voodoo. King Houndekpinkou blends different clays and ideologies from multiple continents to create works that combine creativity, craftsmanship, cross-cultural understanding and spirituality.
Facilitated by Jane Sawyer, director of Slow Clay Centre, and appearing as part of Craft Victoria’s Craft Cubed Festival, the artist talk and demo will explore his cross-cultural clay practice celebrating the beauty of imperfection.
